North West Design Collective

House by a Beck

A 1970s semi detached family home was inherited by two sisters. Their dream is to create a holiday home to serve the two families. The design brief for this was quite complicated as there was a need to sympathetically retain all those elements which had deep emotional connections to the family, but to extend and re-model it to accommodate twice as many people as originally intended.

The design has had to do a lot to achieve the brief and we have worked very closely with both sisters throughout the design process and received a successful planning approval.

Client: Private

Planning Granted: 2022

Completed: Ongoing

Client Testimony: ‘We found NWDC had an enthusiastic and positive attitude towards our project, despite us having quite a constricted budget. They were in tune with our aesthetic and understood our constraints, suggesting compromises which should still hopefully help us achieve what we want once we start the build.’
